The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Lee County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until 1015 PM EDT.

* At 609 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Jonesville, Pennington Gap, St. Charles and Dryden.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east Tennessee, including the following
  county, Hancock and southwest Virginia, including the following
  counties, Lee and Scott.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 542 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have
    fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Jonesville, Pennington Gap, Duffield, Clinchport,
    Pattonsville, Dryden and Jasper.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms can be expected
through this evening. A few of these storms may become strong to
severe with damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail from 0.5 to 1".
We will also be monitoring the potential for isolated flooding
across any areas that receive repeated rounds of showers and
storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for Indiana, south central
Indiana, east central Kentucky, north central Kentucky, northwest
Kentucky and south central Kentucky.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible through early evening. Cloud
to ground lightning will be the main hazard with any thunderstorm.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

A chance of heavy rain and strong storms will return by the middle of
next week. Severe storms cannot be ruled out Wednesday as a cold
front moves through the area. However, the probability for widespread
hazardous weather is low.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Any storms that develop this afternoon will move to the southwest at
10 to 15 mph.

Any users of this storm motion must be aware that thunderstorm activity
can be erratic and constantly evolving.  Please use this with caution
and be prepared for changing conditions.
