...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Idaho...

  Portneuf River at Pocatello affecting Bannock County.

.Warm temperatures will continue to melt high mountain snowpack and
keep river flows elevated, though overall river flow will slightly
decrease in the upcoming days due to a diminishing snowpack.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

...FLOOD WARNING FOR SNOWMELT REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL SATURDAY, MAY
25...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast,
  though overall snowmelt and resulting flows looks to gradually
  decrease due to a diminishing snowpack.

* WHERE...Portneuf River at Pocatello.

* WHEN...Until Saturday, May 25.

* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Water will encroach onto portions of the
  bike and walking trail next to the river in Sacajawea Park in
  Pocatello.
  At 8.5 feet, Sections of Sacajawea Park will be under water and
  the trail is usually closed at this level. Marsh Creek near Inkom
  may also be over its banks.
  At 9.2 feet, Flooding of low lying agricultural land and pasture
  will occur in the Inkom and Blackrock area. Lowland flooding is
  likely along sections of the river between Portneuf Gap and the
  Cheyenne Avenue Bridge in Pocatello.
  At 9.4 feet, Water will encroach around sitting benches near the
  river at the Pacific Recycling Trailhead.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 10:45 AM MDT Saturday the stage was 9.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 10:45 AM MDT Saturday was 9.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 8.7 feet Tuesday,
    May 28.
  - Flood stage is 8.5 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    9.5 feet on 01/02/1979.

  strong current.

  flooded. Minor erosion occurs along the primary access road from
  Idaho to Jarbidge (seasonally, the only access road).

...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TO 6 PM MDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to around 50 mph
  expected.

* WHERE...Arco/Mud Lake Desert, Lower Snake River Plain, and Upper
  Snake River Plain.

* WHEN...From 7 AM to 6 PM MDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could make driving difficult, especially for
  high profile vehicles. Blowing dust could cause reduced
  visibilities. Unsecured objects may be blown around. Strong winds
  and rough waves on area lakes will create hazardous conditions for
  small craft.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles and if there is reduced visibilities because of
blowing dust. Use extra caution.

Secure outdoor objects.

Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution since strong winds
and rough waves can overturn small craft.
