Severe Thunderstorms Expected for Portions of the Northeast; Mountain Snow and Heavy Rain Persist in the West

Severe thunderstorms will continue to develop across the Upper Ohio Valley region into portions of the interior Northeast through this evening. Damaging winds are the main threat however, large hail and a couple of tornadoes are also possible. A Wind advisory has been issued for northern, south central, and southeastern Elko County from 11 AM PDT to 8 PM PDT Monday April 15th 2024. Strong northwest winds of 20 to 30 MPH along with gusts up to 50 MPH will be possible. Use caution when traveling as driving conditions could become adverse due to blowing dust, strong crosswinds that affect high profile vehicles, and property damage due to wind blown unsecured items and debris.
